Hike & Hydrate: Wetmore Landing to Little Presque Isle and Blackrocks Brewery
Welcome to our weekly series Hike & Hydrate! We'll exploring some of our favorite hiking in the Upper Peninsula and following them up with a visit to some local breweries and watering holes.
Hike: Wetmore Landing to Little Presque Isle
Arguably one of the more scenic hikes in the U.P., this shoreline trail is an out and back hike that begins at the beautiful white sand beach at Wetmore Landing. While you could spend most of the day here hanging out on the beach, some of the best hiking in Marquette lies just beyond the horseshoe shaped beach. This 3.6 mile out and back trail features beautiful beach walking, then traversing into a rocky trail that weaves in and out of large boulders, and finally climbing up the cliff line providing amazing views of the lake below. Finish your hike with a refreshing dip in Lake Superior before heading back to your car.

Drive north on 3rd street to the dome, taking a left to the traffic circle. Take the left onto Presque Isle Ave and continue .5 miles to Big Bay Rd. Take a left and drive 5.3 miles to the Wetmore Landing parking area.Get Directions Here.
Hydrate: Blackrocks Brewery, Marquette Michigan
Once back in town be sure to rehydrate at our favorite brewery Blackrocks. Not only is Blackrocks one of our friendly neighbors, it has a vibe like no other brewery in town. After hiking we love to grab a 51k IPA and head on out to the back patio to hang out around the firepit and enjoy some live music.
